By losing a mere .5 pounds, it looks like I’m making history with this post and not in a good way.

The trip to Las Vegas was quick and filled with bad food everywhere I looked. And unfortunately, I almost had no choice but to eat it.

Here’s the deal. When you go to Las Vegas, you have few dining choices. Most if not all casinos have a food court with different fast food restaurants as well as the ubiquitous buffet. Being I’m not eating as much as I used to, it would have been wasteful to spend a ridiculous amount of money to eat at a buffet. It just didn’t make sense when you could feed a family at a fast-food place for the same amount as a plate at the buffet.

So that’s what we did–each day. Fast food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also failed to exercise during out time there. And the result? You see it. I could say I’m not happy about it but hey, I knew what I was doing. So now it’s time to forget all about those few sinful days and to pick up where I left off.

The good thing about Las Vegas? It’s very pedestrian. You pretty much have to walk everywhere if you want to avoid traffic on The Strip (or take Industrial Road and Frank Sinatra Drive located behind The Strip’s casinos). So if there is any good coming out of our trip, it’s the walking–and the swimming in the hotel’s pool.

I walked to the store during lunch today and stocked up on Zone Perfect bars and PowerBars so I’m good on snacks for the week. I’ve got all of my lunches planned and am taking Wednesday’s Bagel Day at work into consideration by bringing my Weight Watchers cream cheese (which will cost me 1 Point).

So there you have it. You’ll have good weeks; you’ll have bad ones. But you have to pick up and move on.

And that’s what I intend to do.
