Sorry about the late post, folks. I’ve been busy with the Fourth of July holiday and all that jazz, so I hope you had a good one!

Here are this week’s stats:

Weekly Weigh-In for July 3, 2018 (Week 11): 233.0 lbs.
Loss/Gain for the week: +0.2 lbs.
Total lost: 11.8 lbs.
Weekly average loss (targeted goal: 1.14): 1.0 lbs.

Grrr. It shouldn’t be going in that direction even if it’s just a small gain. But it is and I need to fix that.

Exercise was practically nil this week with none over the weekend as I’ve been fighting off a cold for a little bit. It’s hard to do much of anything when you’re congested so I did absolutely nothing.

I’m holding steady but it’s getting old still being in the 230s after 12 weeks. So I’m setting a lofty goal for my next weigh-in: 230 or 229. Sorry, but I’m getting a little angry here with the way things are going and need to motivate myself into getting serious again. That will be a loss of between 3-4 pounds by next Tuesday or Wednesday that I’ve committed to — I posted it so I have no choice, right?

That’s all for now. Hopefully things will be better by next week and more importantly, I will have reached the goal I set above.

See you next week!

Another week has passed. Let’s see where I’m at, and I apologize for not posting this yesterday — I was just flat-out tired.

Weekly Weigh-In for June 5, 2018: 234.6 lbs.
Loss/Gain for the week: -0.2 lbs.
Total lost: 10.2 lbs.
Weekly average loss: 1.3 lbs.

As expected, this week’s numbers are nothing spectacular even if they resulted in a loss. I’m still above my targeted average weekly loss of 1.14 lbs., the number I have to stick to in order to lose those 50 lbs. by my 50th birthday.

After a week of not doing much at all, I finally got back in to the swing of things and woke up early on the weekend to do my walk and ride, which looked something like this.

Walking:

Cycling:

That’s a total of 25.89 miles of activity over the weekend which isn’t too bad considering how I felt the week before. If not for those activities, I can assure you that this week’s results would have been much different. I’m also back to riding during lunch while at work, averaging a modest 3.5 miles each day this week so far. Every little bit counts.

Oh, and this. I promised a picture so here it is.

Yes, I’m wearing black and yes, my arms are folded. But it’s the most current picture of me that I like so it’s what you get. I’ll try to get a better one this week. And I’ll say this much: at least my face is looking a little thinner when compared to this post.

So it looks like things are continuing to slowly go in the direction I want them to and at the pace I anticipated. I’m happy about that but there’s still a lot of work to be done. I’m inching closer to the 220s, someplace I haven’t been in a long time, so it’s time to get my resistance up and avoid any absolutely, completely unnecessary eating or snacking!

That’s all for this week. We’ll see what happens next week! Thanks again for reading.

Hope you all enjoyed the extended weekend. I’m a little off today because of it but I’ll manage to make through this shortened work week 🙂

Now let’s take a look at this week’s results.

Weekly Weigh-In for May 29, 2018: 234.8 lbs.
Loss/Gain for the week: -1.8 lbs.
Total lost: 10.0 lbs.
Weekly average loss: 1.4 lbs.

Alright, so it appears I have reached a milestone here: 10 pounds lost since starting on April 10, 2018. But that comes with an asterisk.

As I mentioned on my previous post, I wasn’t feeling that well and instead of going for my daily 3-mile bike ride during lunch, I simply rode over to the parking garage and took a nap for about 40 minutes. That means very little exercise during the week and not doing anything this past weekend.

Whatever it was (allergies, possible cold, etc.), it got a hold of me and didn’t really let go until Friday. Granted I was well enough to eat but doing just about anything was a real chore and with someone on vacation at the office, I was doing double duty and refused to take a day off since I didn’t feel the need to. It was just a blah week.

So the drop of 1.8 pounds could be attributed to my being sick and I wouldn’t be surprised if next week’s results are much higher. I did have my share of food on Memorial Day, though.

But as of now, aside from a slight headache, I feel almost 100% and got back in the groove today by riding 3 miles. I’m looking forward to the weekend when I can get back into doing everything I missed doing last week. And for next week, I’ll see about posting a few pictures so you can see the results so far.

That’s it. Hope you all are doing well and see you next Tuesday, hopefully with results that aren’t as bad as I think they will be!

Weekly Weigh-In, Week 6

Folks, this one’s going to be pretty short as I’m feeling a little bit under the weather.

Weekly Weigh-In for May 22, 2018: 236.6 lbs.
Loss/Gain for the week: -0.6 lbs.
Total lost: 8.2 lbs.
Weekly average loss: 1.6 lbs.

At 236.6, I’m at my lowest point since starting, beating my previous low of 236.8. It’s coming along.

And a bonus: my pants are starting to get bigger. Always a good sign.

I was back at it this weekend by running 3 miles on Saturday and cycling 17 miles on Sunday so that definitely helped. This week’s lunchtime bike rides at work have been short since I’m not feeling well — to my car and back so that I can take a nap for a bit. Being sick is fun!

Also, I ate a Subway Veggie Delite for two days in a row. They were a staple when I lost 100 pounds because I would walk to my nearest location, get a footlong, and eat half one day and half the next. It just worked and I’m now making my own at home with French bread loaves from Sam’s Club.

Sorry for the short post but I think that’s all for now. Time to get some rest. Let’s see what happens next week!

Weekly Weigh-In, Week 4

Folks, this will be a short post tonight. I’m pretty tired and it’s late so let’s get to it.

Weekly Weigh-In for May 8, 2018: 236.8 lbs.
Loss/Gain for the week: -0.8 lbs.
Total lost:  8.0 lbs.
Weekly average loss: 2.0 lbs.

I’ve reached 8 pounds lost! It sure doesn’t feel like it but I can definitely see the difference in my waist (read: handles are disappearing). And although a loss is still a loss, it looks like I’m slowing down. While the average is still well above the 1.14 lbs. per week I need to achieve in order to reach my goal, it will level off very soon.

I did manage to go running (5 miles) and riding (18 miles) this weekend so that’s a plus. I’m also mixing it up a little at work by walking the last few days instead of riding the bike, which doesn’t burn as many calories but is a nice change. It’s given me the opportunity to carry my camera around town and take pictures, a hobby I enjoy tremendously.

So I think that will do it for tonight. Eight pounds down, 36.8 to go! We’ll see how next week’s weigh-in goes!
